2016: Martennial is Founded
After years of growing other companies, Cody Martens founded Martennial Contracting Ltd., channeling his lifelong passion for carpentry into a new venture. Starting with renovations, decks, and fences, we rapidly expanded to 18 employees from 13 countries in our first year—building both structures and a diverse, collaborative culture. That inaugural year closed with record sales and a clear mission: to redefine quality construction through unity and craftsmanship.
2017–2018 — Growth Through Diversification
As demand increased, Martennial evolved strategically—launching a transportation division for material logistics while expanding into acreage homes and custom arenas. This growth demonstrated our adaptability and commitment to meeting clients' diverse needs with the same precision and professionalism.
2019–2020 — A Well-Oiled Machine

2021 — Strategic Shift & New Chapter
Cody's move to Vancouver Island and hands-on property renovation reignited his passion for real estate, sparking an evolution in vision. This pivotal year marked a transition - from contractor to creator - as he refocused Martennial's expertise on framing excellence and lasting community impact through strategic development.
2022 — Full Commitment to Framing
Martennial strategically launched its framing division upon establishing operations in Calgary, bringing disciplined systems and years of expertise to the multifamily market. With rapid scaling to 25 skilled employees, we built a collaborative team culture designed for sustainable growth and exceptional project delivery.
2023–2024 — Building Excellence
Martennial rapidly grew into a premier multifamily framing specialist, expanding to 50+ skilled professionals while establishing ourselves as a trusted leader in Calgary's competitive market.
